OBITUARIES ASBURY PARK EVENING PIES' 8 Oct. 77, 1971 Mrs. William Long, Won Cross of Honor OYSTER BAY, N.Y. -Mrs. William H.

Long a iog breeder and one of a small group of women awarded the American Cross of Honor for saving a life, died yesterday at home here. She was 66. The award, regarded as the female counterpart of the medal of honor, was presented to her by the late Gov. Alfred E. Smith for saving a man's life in the Hudson River near Nyack many years ago.

Mrs. Long was the wife of William H. Long former president and board chairman of Doremus Doremus national advertising and public relations firm. Mrs. Long was a former head of the Westbury and Long Island Kennel clubs.

She also was founder and past president of the Long Island Obedience Training Club, and one of three organizers of Dogs for Defense, which Ei.H dogs for duty in World War II. Surviving are her husband; two Mrs. John H. Hale, Toms River, N.J., and Mrs. Robert Page Burr, Lloyd 0....

Quinn, 69, wife of Fred Quinn, tax assessor and former mayor of the borough of Freehold, died yesterday at Freehold Area Hospital, Freehold Township. Mrs.

Quinn lived at 22 Murray St. She was born here and was a life resident. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs.

Allen Gant, Westmont, and Mrs. J. Donald Daily, here; two sisters, Mrs, Chris Wiley, Broad Channel, N.Y., and Mrs. Patrick Langdon. Lansford, and five grandchildren.

Lillian Feigenwinter, 76. former resident of East Keansburg, Middletown Township, N.J., died yesterday at the Charles Cole Hospital, here. Mrs. Feigenwinter and her late husband Albin S. were the owners of a general store in East Keansburg, Middle-town Township, N.J., before their retirement.

Mr. Feigenwinter died in 1958. She was born in Bloomfield, N.J., and lived in Middletown Township, N.J., before moving here four months ago. Surviving are her son, Robert here; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Herron, Boonton, N.J., eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

As they were turning the car around, the customer, whose identity was not disclosed, copied the plate numbers on the car and informed the police.

The customer was unaware that the men were armed, police said. Albert Kneuer, 61; Ex-Antiques Dealer OCEAN GROVE Albert Kneuer, 61, of 20 Surf died Monday at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. Mr. Kneuer operated the Old Colonial Antiques Ltd. shop in Asbury Park until his retirement a year ago.

He was born in Long Branch and lived in the Asbury Park area nwt of his life. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements. BARNEY J. DASKEY BERKELEY TOWNSHIP -Barney J.

Daskey, 71, of 258 Rte. 9, died Monday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. He was born in New Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. Daskey lived in Newark before coming here seven years ago.

Mr. Daskey was employed as a wrapper with the Fischer Baking Co. in Newark for 20 years. He retired in 1964. He was a member of St.

Barnabas Roman Catholic Church, here. He was also a member of Local 84, Bakery and Confectionery Union and Industry International. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Catherine Krauss Daskey and several nieces and nephews. The Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.

CLIFFORD W. SARGEANT WALL TOWNSHIP-Clifford W. Sargeant, 57. of 1629 Rosewood Drive, West Belmar, died yesterday in Jersey Shore Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mr.

Sargeant was employed as a maintenance man by Monmouth County. He was born in Newark and had lived in this area 50 years. He is survived by his widow, Adelaide; a son, Kenneth Neptune; a sister, Mrs. Daniel Craig, Gladstone, and one grandchild. The Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

G. FOLLENVAIDER NEW SHREWSBURY -Gilderbert Follenvaider, 49, of 37 Alden Lane, died yesterday in Riverview Hospital, Red Bank. He was born in Russia and came to this country in 1951. Mr. Follenvaider was a self-employed contractor.

He was a member of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Red Bank. He is survived by his widow, Emily Skledor Follenvaider and four sons, John San Francisco; Victor, a student at Princeton, and Leo and Edward, both at home. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.

IVINS C. VAN NOTE HAZLET TOWNSHIP -Ivins C. Van Note, 66, of 5 Ave. West Keansburg, Mieleville Trailer Court, died Monday at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank. He was born in Brooklyn and lived in Red Bank before moving here six years ago.

Mr. Van Note was a retired plumber. He is survived by his widow, Margaret Mary Van Note; one son. Jacob Baum, Hazlet; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Crotchfelt, Red Bank; 10 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

MRS. J. GEORGE GOODALL RED BANK Mrs. Maude E. Goodall, of 15 Elm died yesterday at Riverview Hospital.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Surviving are her husband, J. George Goodall; a son, George Connecticut; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Ver-ange, Holmdel Township; Sears CKARLES A. SCHIEL PINE BEACH Charles A.

Schiel, C3, cf 602 Midland died yesterday at his home. Mr. Schiel was born in Philadelphia. He moved here in 1915. Mr.

Schiel was graduated from Toms River High School in 1925. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Toms River: a member and past chief of the Pine Beach Fire Co. and was secretary of the company for many years; he was a past manager of the Little League Yankees of Toms River and the Toms River Elks Lodge Babe Ruth League; he was one of the original members of the Toms River Athletic Club where he excelled in baseball. He was a life member of the Ocean County Bowling Association to which he had belonged for 34 years. Mr.

Shiel was active "in civil defense here during World War II. Mr. Schiel was employed as assistant shop foreman for the Toms River school system. He had been a school bus driver for 16 years. At one time he operated Schiel's Body Shop on Main Toms River.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Newman Schiel; a son, Charles and a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn E. Dickonson, both Beachwood: a sister, Mrs. Mary Liming, W.

JOHN FULGHAM LONG BRANCH Mrs. Gretrude Fulgham, 93, 164 Liberty died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center, She was born in Virginia and lived in Newport News, before moving here two years ago.

HANLEY MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP Bernard J. Hanley, 68, of 17 Gordon Court, Port Monmouth, died yesterday at Riv-erview Hospital, Red Bank. Mr. Hanley was born in Canada and was a resident of Cranford for 25 years before moving here 10 years ago. He retired three years ago after 15 years in the maintenance department at International Flavors and Fragrances, Union Township and Union Beach.

Mr. Hanley was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace La Fontaine Hanley; two sons, Richard Union Township, and Arnold Clark Townsip; a daughter, Mrs.

Maureen J. Murtha, Wanamassa, Ocean Township; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Mc-Guire, Lincoln Park, and Mrs. Lila Howells, Summit, and 15 grandchildren. The John F.

She was born in Orange and lived there and in West Orange before moving to Belmar 10 years ago. Mrs. Fineran was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. for 30 years, the last 10 of which were in Asbury Park. She was a member of the Pioneer Telephone Workers of America, and the Communications Workers of America.

She was also a member of St. Rose's Roman Catholic Church, here, and the Church of Our Lady of the Lourdes, West Orange. She is survived by her husband, Daniel J. Fineran two sons, Cornelius Alexandria, and Daniel J. Whippany; two daughters, Mrs.

Claire Ricker and Mrs. Janet McCauley, both of West Orange; one brother, George Clark; and 16 grandchildren. The Codey Funeral Home, Orange, is in charge of arrangements. MRS. JOHN C.

Mr. Boland was born in Newark, where he lived until coming here 23 years ago. Before his retirement three years ago, he was employed as the township administrative assistant for 14 years. He was a communicant of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, here, and a member of its Holy Name Society; a member of American Legion Post 348, here, and past president of the Ocean County American Legion: a third degree Knight of Columbus, Council 836, here a member of the 40-and-8, here; Dast president of the Godfrey Manor Country Club, here; past member of the Civil League, here, and a past secretary and member of the Brick Township Elks.

He was the founder of the township Little League, and the Little League field was named in his honor. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Adelaide Boland; his brother, William Manville; his sister, Mrs. Margaret Hines, Irvington, and several nieces and nephews. EMIL CTSCHWARZ DOVER TOWNSHIP -Emil C. Schwarz. 82, of 32 Walnut died yesterday at his home. Mr. Schwarz was born in Newark and lived there and in Irvington until coming here 21 years ago.

He was a retired machinist, having been employed by Westinghouse Bloomfield. He retired in 1965 after 21 years of service. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Catherine Burghardt Schwarz; two sons, Richard and Robert, both of Nutley, and three grandsons. The Carmona Funeral Home, Toms- River, is in charge of arrangements.

MRS. LILLIAN HARSHMAN OCEAN TOWNSHIP Mrs. Lillian Ruth Harshman, 50, a Republican committeewoman for many years in the 10th district here, died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Harshman, of 1000 Roseld was born in North Arlington and was a resident here for 18 years.

She was an executive housekeeper at the Berkeley Car-. teret, Asbury Park, and formerly was employed by the Empress Motel, Asbury Park. Mrs. Harshman was a member of the evening mem-, bership department of the Women's Club of Asbury Park and was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Eagle Hook and Ladder Fire Ocean Grove.
