🚨 10 Peaks Update 🚨So, remember that charity trek I've made my entire personality for the last 3 months? Well, it turns out my body had other plans...Due to some ongoing health issues I was hoping to get on top of, I've unfortunately had to pull out of the hike.I'm incredibly disappointed I won't get to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and see the top of Kosciuszko along with my cohort of trekkers however I will be passing my hiking poles to my CEO, Greg Johnson, who has valiantly agreed to participate in my place. He will also be flying the Nuvho | Smart Hoteliers flag on my behalf so I cannot thank Greg enough for finishing what I started. To everyone who has generously donated to Youngcare, your donations are still going to make a huge difference to countless lives, even if my hiking boots won't be hitting the trail.Thank you all for your support and understanding.

The lead up to the 10 Peaks trek has presented more than its fair share of challenges however it's also left me blown away by the generosity of love ones and strangers alike. I reached out to my network for support and was met with an overwhelming response. My pre-COVID Manager turned close mate Reannon Ivancic was the first to rally her troops when she not only sourced a prize for my fundraising event but enlisted the support of her workplace, Nuvho | Smart Hoteliers. Nuvho eagerly reached out looking for ways to champion me and my journey to raise $20k for Youngcare. They've generously come onboard as a bronze sponsor donating funds and raising awareness for Youngcare's 10 Peaks Challenge.A huge thank you to Reannon, Clara, Matthias and the entire Nuvho team!

For those playing at home, my 10 Peaks fundraiser On the Piste for a Good Cause took place on Thu 28 March with great success! Thank you to everyone who attended, the support in the room was seriously overwhelming- together we raised $6,500 for Youngcare on the evening! Witnessing generosity like this in the current economy is truly inspiring and I’m so proud of the people I surround myself with that contributed to such a worthy cause. Now to hold up my end of the bargain…

Meet the poor souls who will be stranded on a snowy mountaintop with me...Training commenced last week and in addition to discovering a myriad of new muscles I had no idea existed it also became abundantly clear just how much training I need to do to ensure I make it out in one piece (with as few meltdowns as possible).Quite honestly, I'm super nervous! The trek itself is one terrifying aspect of the challenge however I've also committed to raising $20k for Youngcare Australia.Youngcare is a national not-for-profit, revolutionising the way young people with high-care disabilities live – with freedom, dignity and choice. I'm organising an event at the Triffid on Thu 28 March (Good Friday eve) to raise funds for Youngcare and I would sincerely appreciate your attendance!Tickets are $158 which includes canapes, 4 hours of unlimited drinks and DJ entertainment. There will also be a number of raffle prizes up for grabs as well as a 50/50 raffle.https://lnkd.in/gDA5Sf4wI am notoriously unfit so if I can train for 12 weeks and climb Australia's highest mountain then surely you'll join me for a few drinks at the Triffid to wish me luck (or possibly say your goodbyes), that's way more fun than what I'm doing!Big thank you to my first trek sponsor Nuvho | Smart Hoteliers for supporting me!

Hell has frozen over because I've willingly signed up to do Youngcare's 10 Peaks Challenge. I'll be hiking 60km over 4 days through the top peaks of the Australian snowy mountains in support of Youngcare. As someone who is out of breath after walking up a slight incline for more than 30 seconds, this is well and truly outside my comfort zone but pales in comparison to what young people with disabilities endure every day.I don't hike, I don't even walk if I can avoid it so any trekking tips or training buddies are encouraged! If you'd like to donate to the cause you can do so via the link below.https://lnkd.in/gnatVJs6
